Where "Hold Your Ground, Every Pound" Began
The anthem that keeps us grounded and going began with a young, powerful voice.
On a hiking trip, Dr. Deepa's then six-year-old daughter was full of energy—hopping freely across slippery rock paths, laughing without fear. Like most adults do, the family gently cautioned her: take it slow. One small step at a time. Strong and steady. Keep your balance with every move.
Absorbing every word, she repeated to herself: "Slow, strong, steady, small steps…"
And then, from that little voice, came a line that became our anthem:
"Hold your ground, every pound."
It wasn't just a child's rhyme—it was wisdom. A reminder to take up space with intention. A reminder to move with care, hold our weight with intention, and to stay rooted in every part of who we are. To move forward with balance, strength, and presence—even when the path feels uncertain.
Today, it's more than a phrase.
